You shouldn’t have to link your bank just to remember what you spent.

AI Budget Tool is an iPhone expense tracker you talk to. Add the accounts you already use, say what you spent, and it’s saved with the account, the amount, and a short description of what it was for.

How it works

  1. Add your accounts. Create the accounts you want to track yourself — a debit card, cash, whatever you actually use. You don’t have to connect a bank login. The free plan includes up to three accounts.
  2. Say what you spent. Voice logging is included with Premium. Try something like debit Chase minus 50 groceries. The app captures the account, the amount, and the rest of the sentence as a description.
  3. See what you logged. Open your transaction list and check account balances when you want the picture, not while you’re standing at the register. Premium also includes a Financial Overview with net worth, assets, and liabilities.

Talk to it. Don’t hand over your bank login.

A lot of budget apps want to sync every transaction by connecting to your bank. That’s useful if you want a complete feed and you’re comfortable sharing that access.

This app is built the other way. You create accounts manually and log spending in the moment with your voice, including cash that a bank feed would never see. If you’d rather speak a purchase than fill out a form — or you don’t want a budgeting app hooked up to your accounts — that’s the job it does.

What you can do

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to connect my bank? No. You add the accounts you want to track yourself and log spending with your voice. You don’t connect a bank login.

What do I say? Speak it the way you’d jot it down. One example from the app: debit Chase minus 50 groceries. That records $50 leaving an account you named Chase, with “groceries” saved as the description.

Does it work if I use cash? Yes. You can add a cash account and log cash the same way you log a card purchase. Cash is one of the main reasons people don’t want to rely on a bank connection.

Is voice logging included for free? The app is free to download and you can add up to three accounts. Voice logging, the full transaction list, and Financial Overview are part of Premium, listed at $4.99 a month.

Is this the only voice expense tracker? No. Other apps also let you speak a purchase. This one pairs voice logging with accounts you add yourself, including cash, and no bank login.

Does it replace a full budgeting system? Not if you want envelope budgeting, shared household plans, spending charts, budget targets, or automatic bank imports. It’s a fast spending log, meant to be easy to keep up with, including cash.

Is it on Android? Not right now. It’s an iPhone app.

What does it cost? The app is free to download, with up to three accounts on the free plan. Premium is listed at $4.99 a month and includes unlimited accounts, voice logging, the transaction list, and Financial Overview.
